It is also worth noticing that currently, only those who have Paytm’s Android app installed will be able to order food via the app. But the feature is soon expected to go live via Paytm’s iOS app too. Paytm garnered a lot of popularity after demonetisation was announced in November 2016. As a result of this, the app has a large user base in tier two and three cities. With this partnership, the two companies plan to take online food ordering even to those users who do not have Zomato’s application installed on their smartphone. The move will not only increase Zomato’s popularity in these areas but also widen the user base for online food ordering.

This feature will also increase the adoption of Paytm for both online as well as offline payments. The Alibaba and Softbank backed app also said that its Paytm QR has been gaining traction for offline payments across restaurants. Speaking about the partnership, Renu Satti, Senior Vice President of Paytm said, “Our association with Zomato is a valuable addition to our platform in bringing the convenience of ordering food online through our app. It is also an important step towards enhancing the overall offerings to our customers. We will continue to invest our efforts in this direction.” Mohit Gupta, CEO of Food Delivery, Zomato also spoke about the association saying, “Paytm is the most popular digital payments platform, with extensive reach across the length and breadth of the country. We are excited to be partnering with them to integrate our online food delivery service with their mobile app. This will allow us to reach a much larger user base and add to the overall experience of ordering from Zomato.” For the latest gadget and tech news, and gadget reviews, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. For newest tech & gadget videos subscribe to our YouTube Channel.
