Apple News+ subscription service
The first thing that Apple launched at its event today was its News+ subscription service that has more than 300 magazines. The service is priced at $9.99 per month and included the likes of Los Angeles Times and The Wall Street Journal, Wired, The New Yorker and more. The service will first be made available in the United States, Canada and will then reach the UK and Australia. Apple specifically said that advertisers would not be able to track the activity of subscribers, promising to maintain user privacy.
Apple Card
Apple has also launched its own credit card at the event that is known as Apple Card. The newly-launched Apple Card can be used at any place where Apple Pay is accepted. According to the Cupertino-based technology giant, Apple Card will make it easier for users to see how much they are charged by the merchants. The card works with Apple Maps to show users where they have spent their money. Emphasizing on privacy, the company also added that it would not know what you have bought or where you shopped. Furthermore, the card will live in the wallet section of the iPhone. However, customers will also be able to get a physical card made of titanium. We should add here that a reward program will be available on all transactions and other than this, the card would not have any late fees, annual fees or fee for going over the credit limit.
Apple Arcade
Apple Arcade is a game subscription service that can be used for smartphones, desktops, and other living room devices. The technology giant announced that for its gaming service, it is working along with Walt Disney Co, Sega and Annapurna Interactive. The service will come with over 100 new titles and will be available on the App Store. Users will be able to run it on iPad, Mac and Apple TV. The service will have no ads and will be available in more than 150 countries.
